Soundwhoring
Soundwhoring - Using sound to pinpoint enemies positions and activities through sound.

Yep, soundwhoring. This is how the guy knew you were there. I wouldn't be able to get a good score without using sound in S&D anymore, I depend on it lots. It's pretty simple to be honest, all you gotta do is turn your TV volume up, and listen out for footsteps.

The Basics
You NeeBig Frown
- Ninja Pro
- Louder TV Volume/Earphones (The more expensive the better)

Ok. Start out by trying a couple of maps sitting near S&D bomb sites, and listening out for footsteps, then seeing where the bad guys are at. After you think you can work out their positions from the sound of their steps, try playing like you would normally in S&D. Ninja Pro is needed so that you can walk silently, and therefore listen out to bad guys walking around. You can also hear the bomb being planted/defused from quite a distance away, which is also useful.

I'm generally a rusher and I've adapted my play style only slightly in S&D. Every 20 or 30 seconds or so I'll stop and listen out for bad guys moving around, maybe even more so if I'm the last alive, try and pinpoint where they're at, and head off towards them carefully. I only use my lame TV speaker but I can still make out where bad guys are at, surround surround and HD earphones must work a treat.

Yep, that's it, give it a try, it makes you a better player.

Approved. Thanks for the guide! I might try this sometime, though I don't play S&D too often.

^ Same as above, I don't play often, mainly coz I suck at it. Might give it a try using this technique though, see if I'm any better Happy

PS: Can't do it on BO because Treyarch suck! You can sort of hear people with Ninja Pro a bit, but it's still messed up. They said they'd fix it... but it seems like they made no difference. Works great on COD4 (deal silence not ninja) and MW2 though.
